In November 2024, RDH Excavations was honored to participate in a significant commercial site cleanup project for a large bank. The project involved preparing a 37-acre factory property, located in the scenic yet rugged Dandenong Ranges, for sale following its repossession. The site required extensive clearing to restore its potential and present it in optimal condition for prospective buyers.

Our team was tasked with several complex operations tailored to the property’s unique challenges. First, we undertook the removal of approximately 970 cubic metres of large logs. We removed 340 metres of Aus Hardwood Logs to be processed into firewood and 630 cubic metres of pine timber for Mulch. This was efficiently managed using a 5-tonne excavator and a fleet of tip trucks, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible handling of the timber.

Following this, we utilised a bobcat equipped with a slasher attachment to clear 20 acres of overgrown fields. This process was carried out meticulously to enhance the land’s visual appeal and accessibility while maintaining its natural integrity.

One of the most demanding aspects of the project was addressing a steep incline that was inaccessible with conventional machinery. To tackle this, we deployed a 10-tonne Spider excavator, specifically designed for challenging terrain. Its advanced capabilities allowed us to complete the work on this section safely and efficiently.

The entire project was completed on schedule and without any issues, a testament to the skill and dedication of our team. The bank expressed their satisfaction with the quality of our work and the timely delivery, ensuring the property was market-ready and showcasing RDH Excavations’ commitment to excellence in every project.
